Per the Wheel Repair and Reconditioning positon statement: “Audi approves only wheel repairs which are limited to surface sanding and cosmetic refinishing that removes and replaces only paint coatings.” The position statement also clarifies that, “Reconditioned wheels will not meet the specifications of genuine Audi wheels and are not an approved acceptable method of repair on any Audi vehicle.” Knowing what the OEM allows and doesn’t allow helps to ensure a safe and quality repair.
